a, an, or the.

a / an β Use for one, not specific.
Use a before consonant sounds; an before vowel sounds. Ex: a pen Β· an umbrella Β· an hour (h is silent β vowel sound)
the β Use for specific or known things. We know which one. Ex: Close the door. Β· Check the weather report.
no article β For general plurals and uncountable nouns. Ex: Water is important. Β· We follow orders.
