Question: If you found an old map, where do you think the treasure would be?
On Tuesday morning, something very interesting happened in Willow Creek Park. A local woman, Mrs. Clara Jenkins, was walking her dog at about 9:00 am near the main gate. Her dog, named Max, started digging quickly under an old oak tree.
Mrs. Jenkins found a small wooden box in the soil. Inside the box, there was an old paper map. The map showed three important places. First, a small red 'X' was marked on the map, indicating a spot at the edge of the lake. Second, a note said: “Look at the clock tower at midday.” And finally, a date was written: “Return on the 24th of March, after sunset.”
The park is a popular place. Many people go running in the park before work. However, since the discovery, the police have closed the central part of the park until next week. They need to investigate the lake area. The police chief said: “We are working hard. We plan to search the lake on Wednesday and Thursday. We believe the treasure is still in the park. The park will open again at 6:00 am on Friday morning.”
Mrs. Jenkins is famous now. She will give an interview on the local radio station at 4:30 pm on Thursday. This is certainly the most exciting thing to happen in our town in a long time!
